Guest Guide

Points to Note:

  • We typically record on a Monday afternoon British time.

  • We use Riverside software. Nick will send you a specific link to our studio on Riverside. Guests join the online studio at around 1430. You will sit in a “lobby” until Nick let’s you in. Hopefully the wait won’t be too long!

  • Chrome is the best browser to use. If you use Apple hardware, there is a slight nano-second delay in you hearing other people. It’s annoying at first but we all adapt to it.

  • When you are waiting in the “lobby” you can’t hear what we are saying (Riverside’s choice, not ours).

  • You are joining the “Meat & Potatoes” segment of the show, where we typically chew the fat over one particular issue or angle in financial services.

  • It lasts around 30-40 minutes. At the end, we say goodbye and you click “Leave” at bottom right on the screen. Please keep the Riverside browser open until your upload hits 100%.

  • We are relaxed about the odd “f-bomb” being dropped. Obviously no slanderous comments please!

  • Any questions, email or WA Nick on UK +7714 767064.

essentials:

  • If you have something to promote, please send Nick an email with the details well in advance of the recording date

  • Bear in mind that TRAP is both an audio and video production. Please have:

    • a decent microphone, either standalone or a lapel mic;

    • in-ear headphones. Standard PC speakers can potentially echo back into your microphone in a loop of audio doom;

    • proper lighting or at least sympathetic natural light. We don’t want you in front of a bright window as just a weird silhouette from some crime program.
