Guest Guide

essentials:

  • If you have something to promote, please send Nick an email with the details well in advance of the recording date

  • Bear in mind that TRAP is both an audio and video production:

    • If you use Apple hardware, there is a delay in you hearing us and vice-versa, which affects the quality of the conversation. If you can, please use a Windows based PC/laptop

      • If you must use Apple:

        • Close down all other browser windows

        • Close down all apps other than Chrome

        • If problems persist, click on the button and go through everything

    • Chrome is the best browser to use

    • Use a decent microphone, either standalone or a lapel mic

    • Use headphones. Standard PC speakers can echo back into your microphone in an audio doom loop

    • Have proper lighting or at least sympathetic natural light: if you sit in front of a bright window you will be a weird crime program silhouette.

MAC USER IN-DEPTH GUIDE

Points to Note:

  • We typically record on a Monday afternoon British time.

  • We use Riverside software. Nick will send you a specific link to our studio on Riverside. Guests join the online studio at around 1430. You will sit in a “lobby” until Nick let’s you in. Hopefully the wait won’t be too long!

  • When you are waiting in the “lobby” you can’t hear what we are saying (Riverside’s choice, not ours)

  • You are joining the “Meat & Potatoes” segment of the show, where we typically chew the fat over one particular issue or angle in financial services

  • It lasts around 30-40 minutes. At the end, we say goodbye and either Nick oryou click “Leave” at bottom right on the screen. Please keep the Riverside browser open until your upload hits 100%

  • We are relaxed about the odd “f-bomb” being dropped. Obviously no slanderous comments please!

  • Any questions, email or WA Nick on UK +7714 767064.
